DP Remote Crane Management System

The DP RCMS is jointly developed by Porteng Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd. In Malaysia and Qianhai Dawson Automation Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., in China.

The main features of the DP RCMS are:

Monitor the crane status (position tracking for the crane motions (H/T/G/B))
Collect the operational data for H/T/G/B and the spreader
Display the fault message, record and assist in fault diagnostic with logic diagram
Remote access for troubleshooting and software bypass (temporary) for resuming the crane operation
Performance reports (running hour meter, movement count meter recording, tyre pressure measurement, etc.)
Historical playback (control commands, crane motions and operation of the systems)

DP RCMS can generate the reports according to customer requirements, for both the operational and engineering KPI reports. It can reduce the manpower for data collection. It reduce the mean time to repair (MTTR) for the machine breakdowns (minimize the travelling and reduce the fault diagnostic times). It can also Increase the crane’s availability by optimizing the PM schedule and component replacement according to the operation hours, twistlock count, fault rate, etc. The training process for a new technician can be speed up too.

Porteng collaborates with Leewell Intelligence (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd to bring its crane mechanism status monitoring products to Malaysia. Crane intelligent has been a trend in the container terminal industry, especially in ASEAN countries. Leewell, as one of the famous intelligent system developers from China, supplies both software and hardware for automatic monitoring the crane mechanism such as motor, gearbox, shaft, bearing, drum, wheel and other rotary mechanism. Leewell’s products have been applied to more than 230 QCs and 360 RMGC/RTGC among 20 countries and regions internationally.

By installing the sensors and data collection system on the crane mechanism, monitoring their vibration, temperature, speed, noise, etc., the intelligent system can diagnosis the actual real time status of the mechanism. This can predict and prejudge the failure suffers of the crane components to avoid major equipment accidents and unplanned long-time shutdown that affect terminal operation and efficiency severely. User can also benefit from reducing the maintenance cost and time.
